The grade 8 pupils have again had zhe opportunity of curricular excursion to Gorski kotar and Kvarner (northern part of the Adriatic sea). They have not only be able to see that which they had learned about in school, but also to deepen their knowledge. In Physics and Chemistry the pupils observe experiments and in Music they listen to the works of various composers. Similarily in Geography, they go on curriculum related excursions in order to learn about the world around them.

There is also ''the gem of croatian literacy“ (The Baška tablet from the 11th century with glagolitic letters an authentic site on the island of Krk) and a ''Journey through the history of computers“ in a museum in Rijeka.

Excursions tied to Geography, the Croatian Language, and Computer Science furthers knowledge already acquired in the classroom.


We now understand the geology of southern Krk and how it was acomplished.


We visited Saint Lucia's Church in Jurandvor in which the Baška tablet was found. It was the key to understanding the ancient Croatian alphabet of ''Glagolica“.

We had some free time in Rijeka so some took a walk to the Croatian National Theatre ''Ivan pl. Zajc“.



We watched football and athletic training at the stadium in Kantrida.


A look at the northern part of the island of Krk, next to the bridge, the mountains Učka and Ćićarija and the cities of Opatija and Rijeka.
