Teachers' Day

In 1994, UNESCO declared October the 5th as a worldwide Teachers' Day. This year the school staff, teachers and technical staff, marked the day with a field trip to Lepoglava and Varaždin.

World Teachers' Day has traditionally been held in this way in our school. This year we marvelled at the frescas in Lepoglava's local church (virtual 360 degrees tour) and explored  part of an old monastery, that belonged to Order of Saint Paul the First Hermit.

Two years ago UNESCO declared Lepoglava, Hvar and Paška lace a cultural heritage. We were able to see the actual hand crafting of the Lepoglava lace. The lacemaking technique is impossible to have written instructions. Each piece of lace is unique and no two pieces are alike. In fact, it is impossible to create an exact copy.

Lepoglava also has a 20 000 000 years old volcano, and a 157 year old jail.

In the afternoon, we visited the city of Varaždin, famous croatian baroque city.
