The program began right away while the students were still on the bus. Here they learned about the most important historical facts of Varaždin, like:  how it was engulfed in a large fire in 1776, and why Varaždin is thought to be the most barok and the most culture-filled city in Croatia. We learned about barok music, about the cemetary, about Špancirfest and other famililar things.

First we visited the Varaždin cemetary, landmarks, parks and architecture. Then we visited two barok churches, after which we turned towards the Old Town. After sightseeing around the old forts, we had some free time where we could walk around the centre of the Old Town.
From there we continued to the Ethnomorphological museum where we explored ''the world of bugs''. There we got to know a variety of different kinds of insects and listened to the songs of various birds.

Our next stop was Trakošćan. When we got there, we had lunch first. After a short rest, we went to see the castle. Our guide told us about the everyday life of the Drašković family, who were the  inhabitants at that time.

Before returning to Zagreb, we had some free time for fun and games.
This class excursion was very interesting  and fun, but most of all a very educational experiece. The information and knowledge which we have learned on this trip will be used in our classes at school.
