''I came back because I love this country!''

In December, Julia Moreno Bodelón had compleated her practicum as a pre-school teacher, but she has come back to Croatia because she says that she really likes it here.

After I graduated, I wanted to go abroad for my practicum and get some experience in my field of study – pre-school education.  Luckily, my application was accepted at this school and I came to Croatia in September. I planned to stay abroad for two months and didn't really have any expectations.  I had already been to Croatia on my own, but that was different.  At first Zagreb seemed very similar to Brun but later, in December I had fallen in love with the country:  with its people, atmosphere – everythiing seemed enchanting. The people in Croatia are very friendly, they speak English, which surprised me in the beginning, and they are always willing to help. They are laid-back, but at the same time they complete all their work on time. They are passionate and warm.
After that wonderful experience, I asked my university if I could come back at least for another month.  Happily, they approved my request and now, here I am again.  I am happy to be among this great nation and in this great city .

Other than the fact that I have met some wonderful people, I have to say that living in another country is fantastic because you get to know other cultures. The Croatian culture is not much different from that of Spain's so it was easy for me to fit in here. It was also a pleasure to live in Zagreb because I come from a small town (Nigrán in Galicia) and it is new and exciting to live in the capital city of a country. This gives you many more opportunities to meet interesting people and you can do a variety of things, which you cannot do in a small town.  Since I live very close to the Ocean,  it is often cloudy and rainy.  In Zagreb there is a lot more sun and this is another reason why I like it here. The public transit is also very good here so that I don’t need a car to get around town,  and that makes life a lot easier.
